Pre Purchase
A Pre Purchase Survey is intended to give peace of mind when purchasing a Sailing or Motor boat that the vessel is both sea worthy & has no hidden faults which may later be found. To protect our clients when purchasing a vessel, Ionian Marine Surveys carries out a comprehensive inspection of the vessels we are instructed to survey. (please see our scope)
A Pre Purchase survey is the most comprehensive survey we offer and is recommended to protect your investment when purchasing any ocean Sailing Yacht, Motor Cruiser, or Power Boat. A Pre Purchase Survey will almost certainly be required by an Insurance Company and it follows that an Insurance Company may require an Insurance Valuation report, which can be carried out at the same time.
Our Marine Surveyor is a trained professional who acts as your eyes, ears and advisor. He is someone who makes sure that accurate information is gathered professionally, efficiently and impartially.
We carry Full Professional Indemnity Insurance in accordance with standard marine practice.
We recommended that a River or Sea trail be undertaken prior to completing any purchase, allowing clients to satisfy themselves as to the satisfactory operation of installed systems, propulsion, steering, electrical, electronic and navigation equipment, domestic plus water and waste installations and deck equipment etc.
We take over 300+ photographs whilst completing an average survey, some of which are included in our final survey report.

- Recommendations being graded -Dangerous, Urgent, Priority, Caution, Advisory.
